Senioritis

I've been trying to get my senior pictures taken for quite a while now, but it just hasn't happened yet. I love facebook stalking my fellow seniors and looking at their wonderful pictures. I believe I've convinced four different people to take my pictures... and I'm rather excited. Dressing up, looking cute.. It doesn't happen very often, but I love it.

Then I realized that I didn't have any clothes that I wanted to wear for my senior pictures. I decided that something needed to be done. After finding THIS blog, I was feeling rather inspired. I contacted my best friend Cydney, who happens to be my thrifting buddy. Just a few short hours later, we were off to go thrifting.

Of course, I found some pretty awesome finds and couldn't wait to get home, wash them, dry them, and wear them. I got them all washed and hung up to dry. (I don't believe in dryers. They seem to eat my clothes.) and went to bed.

Due to some unforeseen family issues, my mother asked me to skip my first class and take my brother to school so that my father could attend a doctor's appointment. I complained about missing my first class, and she found another way for him to get there.

This morning, I woke up earlier than usual so that I could get ready for school, and be ready to take pictures afterwards. Unfortunately, my brother didn't get the memo that I would be taking more time than usual to get ready this morning. He exited the bathroom at approximately 6:02 a.m. This is two minutes later than he's usually in there. Usually I can make this work. I don't usually spend too much time in the morning getting ready since (according to Spencer) I look fine just how I am. On average, I spend a max of 30 minutes getting ready. Hair, clothes, teeth, shoes. If you aren't familiar with most high school girls' routines, then you won't know how impressive this is. I usually touch my up makeup in my first class or at the stoplights on the way to school.

This morning, my hair decided to go crazy at around the same time that I realized "Oh yeah.. I only like taking pictures in theory!" It always slips my mind that I have some crazy irrational fear of being on the photographed side of the lens.

So... I packed my suitcase and got ready to take my brother to school since I was obviously going to be late anyways. As I headed down the stairs, I realized that my brother was missing. I called my mom. She informed me that she'd already left to take him to school. Saa-weeet.

Then I realized that today is mentorship. Since I've only been going to high school for four years, you can't expect me to have the bell schedule memorized. Even though I could PROBABLY sneak into my first period class by telling the teacher the truth about my agenda, (Something pertaining to an intergalactic battle with the death star) there's no way that would fly with my other teachers.

So.. I'm waiting til lunch.

No big. I needed more time to figure out what I was wearing in the pictures anyway.

Also, I've realized that a lot of people have props in their senior pictures. Like..  A guitar or a football.
I can't really think of anything "Toni" or "Senior Year" related that wouldn't be tacky looking.
Flamingos? Tacky.
Mismatched socks? Tacky.
Skis? They would TOTALLY look awesome in the mojave desert.
A Piano? Ohhh yeah. Too bad I don't have a moving truck and a spare piano.

Well... I'm off! Wish me luck!
